Black Russian (DS29) is the result of crossing two legendary indicas, White Russian and Black Domina - each a jewel, together a diamond.
The Black Russian (DS29) is extremely easy to grow and forgives mistakes in fertilization and temperatures that are too high or too low. The stretch after flowering is moderate. She is compact in stature and develops many side branches, as one would expect from high-yielding indicas.
She produces lots of resinous and compact buds that feature remarkably few small leaflets between buds, making harvesting a breeze.
Taste fanatics will get their money's worth with the Black Russian (DS29). The dominant aroma of fruit is complemented by a sour note and an earthy tone, both of which are due to the genetics being partly Afghan.
The taste is much stronger than the aroma. The heavy smoke spreads in the mouth with a pleasant sweetness that one would not have guessed given the tart aroma. Only when you exhale do you feel that the acid has not evaporated after all, because then it makes itself felt on the flanks of the tongue and provides a brief kick in the synapses.
The effect of the smoke is typically very relaxing for an almost pure indica and lasts for a long time. This and the possible positive effect against pain make the Black Russian a plant that is expressly recommended for medicinal use.
